With Verified Caller's mobile app, you can see if the other party in a phone call is verified with secure identification.
Phone fraud is a big problem and many people are fooled by fraudsters who pretend to be someone else. Fraudsters can make it look like they are calling from a phone number other than their own, e.g. a phone number belonging to a bank, a healthcare facility, a government agency, or a close relative. With the help of AI, a fraudster can also imitate someone you know's voice, e.g. a bank employee, a doctor, or a close relative. In other words, it is very difficult to protect yourself against phone fraud. That is why Verified Caller has developed a phone app where you can know for sure who you are talking to.
Receiving or making calls with the Verified Caller Phone App offers all the standard features you would expect from a phone app. In addition, it also provides verified secure identification of the other party in a phone call. Particularly important is that you can see whether the identity of the phone call dialer is verified before you decide to answer or not. A phone call dialer verifies their identity by using Verified Caller and Swedish BankID.
Currently we support the third-party identification system Swedish BankID, but we will support major secure third party identification systems in other countries as well in the future.
We are working to get banks and government agencies to use our technology so that you as a customer and citizen can know for sure who you are talking to. It is strange that banks and government agencies require you to securely identify yourself to them but at the same time they do not securely identify themselves to you.
Banks and government agencies that do not want to present their employees' identities to outsiders can change what is displayed by informing us how the names of their employees should be replaced with a unique identity within the organization, such as "Employee 318".
